You talk about satellite cards. I own one but I cannot capture
anything with it.
1)
Will OWNS be ported to other Os ?
OWNS has been programmed
using Delphi 5-7 and Kylix since the 0.3 version.
So it works on Windows (it has been tested on Windows 98, Windows
2000 and Windows XP) and on Linux.
It cannot be ported easily to other operating systems.
2) I have many zip files captured by OWNS that are damaged
These files are probably
not damaged but are incomplete. GetRight, Flashget, Download
Accelerator use several http connections to download files.
Files downloaded with these tools cannot be easily reconstituted.
Perhaps in a future version

3) You talk about satellite cards. I own one but I cannot
capture anything with it.
Satellite cards do not
allow the promiscuous mode available on (almost) all ethernet
cards. So you can only see the packets that are destinated to
you.
However, Owns has been reported to work with
these satellite cards :
- Cyberstream
The driver must be modified to allow it
to capture all the frames. That’s what I have done with my
satellite card (an Harmonic Cyberstream) using a debugger.
OWNS works quite well with it (with sehsniffer and now a modified
version of winpcap since 0.4b version).
Since version 0.2 a modified driver for Cyberstream
card is included with Owns. This driver works only on windows
98 (and probably windows 95 and windows Me)
This driver is also quite buggy (thanks
Harmonic) and that is probably why it does not work with Winpcap
(it lacks an important function required by WinpCap). However,
a modified version of winpcap vxd is now available since version
0.4b
- Pinnacle
Chrusty has made a documentation
about how to configure it to work with Owns (available only
in french)
